Mersey Community Hospital have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and self-motivated Ward Support Assistant to join their family-friendly work environment.
The role:
The Ward Support Assistant join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team in their new, spacious and light workspace. To be successful in this role, you will provide and maintain a high standard of customer focused clerical, administrative and reception services at the Mersey Community Hospital.
The role will provide effective and efficient non-nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This includes:
1. Maintaining basic ward equipment and adequate stores
2. Facilitating the control of infection by maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings
Previous experience with the THS booking and scheduling system and good IT skills will be considered highly desirable.

The Mersey Community Hospital:
Latrobe has 95 beds and offers general and specialist health services including 24 hour emergency department, general medicine day surgery and endoscopy, rehabilitation, palliative care and oncology services along with a variety of specialist clinics. Mersey Community hospital is a dedicated elective surgery centre and provides a mixture of general hospital services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive clinical training programs.

Permanent, part time, day worker position working 60.8 hours per fortnight commencing in September 2023

3. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Base Salary: $62,257 - $66,917 pro rata, per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging
4. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022
