Our NATA-accredited laboratories are located in Derwent Park, Leslie Vale, Breadalbane, and Burnie.QUALTECH (TAS) is wholly owned by Hazell Bros., a family-owned and operated business founded in 1944.
Our purpose is to be the supplier of choice by working collaboratively, applying world-class knowledge and experience to deliver the best products and services, creating value for our customers and communities.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced, full-time Construction Material Tester and Technician to contribute to the growth and reliability of our business, providing high-quality service to both internal and external clients.This position supports our Northern Operations team at Breadalbane.
Key duties include but are not limited to:Visiting client sites across industries to sample and collect construction materials (soils, aggregates, and plastic concrete)Conducting concrete compressive and flexural testingPerforming soil, aggregate, and pavement testing in both field and lab settingsCleaning and maintaining field sampling equipment and cylindersEnsuring accurate, timely records and reporting in line with NATA accreditation requirementsRoutine quality assurance checks and calibrationsCollaborating and communicating effectively with internal and external customersAbout YouA commitment to our Safety 1st Always Works frameworkProven previous experience in Construction Material Testing (concrete) is essential; experience with soil, aggregates, and granular pavement will be highly regardedStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with high attention to detail and a commitment to quality assuranceThe ability to work independently with effective time managementCurrent unrestricted manual driver's license; regional travel is essential, and a company pool vehicle will be providedAbility to undertake physical work in accordance with PPE requirementsFlexible with working hours; typically a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, between 07:30 and 16:30, with some weekend, early/late start, and overnight work as neededQUALTECH OffersReward and Recognition program celebrating individual and team achievementsPartnership with Australia's largest employee benefits provider, Flare Benefits, offering discounts across various providersStructured on-the-job training and customized career pathwaysSupport and flexibility for employees to maintain work-life balance, including confidential, no-cost counselling through our Employee Assistance ProgramWant to Know More?If you have questions, email us at (emailprotected).
