About the role
The City has recently adopted a new logo and opened a state-of-the-art Cultural and Civic building, Yarrila Place. We are embarking on a journey to enhance our Brand awareness and recognition. This is an exciting time for the Community and the City and a unique opportunity for the right candidate to play a key role in the Brand and Communications team in driving The City forward.
Communications Officer is an exciting role and opportunity to grow and progress your professional career. This position will see the successful candidate contribute to and support the delivery of communications, engagement, and marketing services to our external and internal customers through effective and proactive planning and consistency in branding, brand awareness and presentation.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a high level of knowledge in digital marketing tactics, including SEO and have the desire and ability to work collaboratively, to provide high level customer service to a variety of different external and internal business units ensuring engagement across our audience.

Essentials Qualifications and Experience
13. Tertiary Qualification in Marketing, Communications and/or equivalent combination of contemporary experience coupled with qualification in communications, journalism or public relations.
14. Demonstrated experience in content management systems.
15. Knowledge of digital marketing tactics such as search engine optimisation (SEO) and email marketing.
Desirable
16. Experience working in customer relations.
17. Experience in communication strategy development
