Lead Piping Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Piping Mechanical Engineer to spearhead the mechanical and piping design for a landmark desalination project.
This is a key leadership role for an experienced engineer with a strong background in desalination or water treatment projects, multidisciplinary coordination, and a passion for delivering sustainable infrastructure.
Your Role:
* Lead the mechanical and piping design from concept through detailed design and into construction support.
* Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration across all design disciplines.
* Develop and review technical documentation including P&IDs, piping layouts, equipment specs, and construction packages.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
* Resolve complex design and interface challenges in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
* Champion innovation and continuous improvement in design methodologies and workflows.
* Mentor and support the development of junior engineers within the team.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Extensive experience in piping and mechanical design for desalination or water treatment facilities.
* Proven ability to lead design and construction teams on large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Strong understanding of piping systems, electromechanical equipment, and construction specifications.
* Excellent project coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience preparing and reviewing management plans, work packages, and risk assessments.
