Purpose of the Position
This role involves responding to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness, developing and maintaining competencies through regular drills and training courses, and operating specialist firefighting and rescue equipment.
Key Responsibilities
You will be expected to attend 50% of incident calls as day workers with routine hours or 30% as shift workers or non-routine hours, attend 75% of regular drill and training sessions, obtain an MRV license within 12 months, participate in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, comply with our policies and procedures, and maintain required attendance standards.
Your Key Accountabilities
* As a member of a team, respond to fire and other emergency incidents.
* Promote community safety and emergency preparedness by contributing to community education activities.
* Develop and maintain competencies by actively participating in regular drills and other relevant training courses to ensure safety and effectiveness on the fire ground.
* Maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.
* Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner.
* Contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.
* Ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities.
* Contribute to incident reporting and general station administration as required.
