Job Description:
The role of Accountant involves working closely with various departments including workforce management, finance, human resources, compensation and benefits, as well as operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for payroll and wage analysis, ensuring all activity is entered accurately in the General Ledger for reconciliation.
* Perform month and year-end closing activities and payroll accruals, including balance sheet reconciliations.
* Calculate inter-department and intercompany payroll reclasses.
* Liaise with the human resources and compensation and benefit teams on policy changes, legal and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare annual wage budgets, monthly forecasts, and variance analysis.
* Participate in internal and external audits.
* Prepare wage reporting to business partners on KPIs and financial results.
* Assess performance efficiency and profit improvement opportunities.
* Act as a strategic partner to monitor and assess changes that impact payroll and business needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business management (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
* Minimum three (3) years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
* Experience and understanding of payroll and accounting-related practices.
* Analytical thinker with experience in providing analysis of high volumes of data.
* Advanced MS Excel skills.
* PeopleSoft experience is a plus.
* Team player with a service-oriented attitude.
* Proactive, well organized, and flexible with a continuous improvement mindset.
* Sound written and verbal communication skills.
