Salary: Stream A, Level 3 from $77,691.03/ year + Super

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Support Officer (Administration) to join our dynamic People and Culture Branch. This role is pivotal in supporting the branch's employee lifecycle activities and broader operational programs through high-quality administrative, financial, and customer service support.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity offering variety, autonomy, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the success of People and Culture initiatives across Council. In this role, you will:
* Provide professional administrative support across employee lifecycle activities including probation, confirmation, development, and separation.
* Manage multiple branch inboxes and respond to internal and external enquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
* Coordinate meetings, events, and branch communications, including logistics, catering, and preparation of agendas, minutes, and presentations.
* Perform financial administration tasks such as processing invoices, purchase orders, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Maintain accurate records and data using Council's corporate systems.
* Support internal engagement activities and contribute to a positive branch culture.
* Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
* This role offers the opportunity to work independently while being part of a collaborative and supportive team. You'll also provide backup support to the Business Support Unit and act as Executive Services Officer during leave periods.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A Certificate IV in Business Administration or similar, and/or extensive experience in a fast-paced administrative role.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* High-level customer service and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using corporate systems such as Finance One and document management platforms.
* Initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* A commitment to continuous improvement and contributing positively to team culture.
