An opportunity exists for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a well-established, purpose-driven organisation operating within a regulated environment. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role supports statutory compliance, financial integrity and high-quality reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare annual financial statements for multiple entities
* Support and coordinate external audit processes
* Manage month-end close, including reconciliations and ledger integrity
* Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant legislation
* Prepare financial acquittals for grant funding bodies
* Monitor cashflow and assist with investment reporting
* Manage tax compliance including GST, FBT, Payroll Tax and ATO reporting
* Maintain and oversee asset registers and valuations
* Support internal audits and committee reporting
* Contribute to budgeting processes and continuous system improvements
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce
* CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)
* Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge
* Experience managing external audits
* Proficient with integrated financial systems
* High attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines
* Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team
Desirable:
* Experience in not-for-profit or public sector environments
* Exposure to Technology One
* Strong Audit and FBT experience
