Family Wellbeing Support Service
This is a maximum-term position for 45 hours per fortnight. We are committed to empowering communities and building strength and resilience to enable everyone to reach their full potential.
We deliver a range of services, including child, family and youth services, family relationship services, school counselling and pastoral care services, social housing, homelessness services, employment and advocacy services across Victoria.
The Family Mental Health Support Service (FMHSS) provides early intervention and non-clinical mental health support for children and young people up to 18 years old who are showing signs of or at risk of developing mental illness.
About the Role:
As a Family Wellbeing Support Service Practitioner, you will provide intensive, long-term, early intervention support for children, young people, and their families. This includes needs assessment, practical assistance, home-based support, linking with other services, and targeted therapeutic groups.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing support and assistance to families in need
* Assessing the needs of families and providing targeted interventions
* Working collaboratively with other services to achieve positive outcomes
* Delivering culturally responsive and inclusive services
Requirements:
* A relevant degree or extensive experience in mental health and wellbeing
* Experience in service coordination and case management principles
* Facilitating group work and applying relevant theories and interventions
* Knowledge of mental health issues affecting families and young people
