A leading Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Senior Server Engineer to join its Infrastructure team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver critical infrastructure projects in a sensitive, high‐availability environment. The successful Senior Server Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure server environments, supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware platforms. This position offers an initial 12‐month contract based onsite in Darwin.
The successful Senior Server Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Design, implement, and maintain Windows Server and Active Directory environments, including migration to a new AD Forest.
* Build and manage VMware virtualisation infrastructure in accordance with best practices.
* Implement security remediation and uplift measures aligned with requirements.
* Utilise monitoring and vulnerability tools to optimise server performance.
* Produce high‐quality documentation, including architecture and as‐built configurations.
To be successful, the Senior Server Engineer will demonstrate:
* Proven experience implementing and managing Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
* Strong background in Active Directory migrations within high‐availability environments.
* Expertise in VMware virtualisation infrastructure.
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with experience in technical writing.
* Ability to work within organisational safety and quality frameworks.
