Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Personal Assistant to provide senior-level administrative and secretarial support to the Director Technical Services. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the Director’s schedule, communications, and operations — while handling complex and sensitive matters with discretion, professionalism, and absolute confidentiality.

Location: Coonabarabran, New South Wales
Type and term: 35 hours per week, up to 12 months (term contract)
Salary: $1,296 - $1,480 per 35 hour week + superannuation

Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level administrative and secretarial support to the Director Technical Services, including managing calendars, screening calls, preparing reports, coordinating meetings, and liaising with stakeholders at all levels (Councillors, senior staff, government agencies, and community partners).
- Assist with preparing high-level briefings, correspondence, and research reports to support effective decision-making at the top level of Council.
- Handle complex and sensitive matters with discretion, professionalism, and absolute confidentiality.
- Be the gatekeeper and organiser behind the scenes, ensuring efficient operation of the Director’s office.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Extensive experience in an office administration role and Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent qualification (or relevant experience).
- Demonstrated high level of confidential probity.
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, database packages; fast, accurate typing).
- Strong oral and written communication skills with experience in report writing and attention to detail.
- Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to quality customer service principles and practices.
- Friendly and welcoming personality with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a broad cross-section of individuals and organisations.
- Commitment to work health and safety (WHS) in the workplace.
- Class C NSW Drivers Licence.
Desirable: Local Government experience, Diploma level qualification, and strong problem solving and project skills.
