About The Role
BMA Goonyella Riverside Mine are currently seeking qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitters. As part of the maintenance crew, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of heavy mining equipment and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a wide range of fixed and mobile plant equipment including conveyors, pumps, crushers, draglines, and CHPP infrastructure.
* Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance in accordance with site procedures and schedules.
* Fault finding, diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS systems.
* Work collaboratively with other trades and production teams to minimise downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
* Maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards at all times.
About You
* Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
* Experience in a coal mining or heavy industrial environment.
* Proficient with fault‑finding and troubleshooting large fixed plant and mobile equipment.
* Knowledge of maintenance procedures for conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics and bearings.
* Current coal board medical and Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain).
* Strong safety focus and a proactive approach to risk management.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
