We have an exciting opportunity available for a Medical Receptionist to join an established and expanding paediatric group practice on Brisbane's Southside. This permanent part-time position (3 days per week, with shifts rostered between 7:30am – 5:30pm) provides essential support to a team of 8 clinicians, including 7 paediatricians and 1 speech therapist.

Working closely with fellow reception staff and the practice manager the successful candidate will play a key role in a supportive team environment, managing a variety of administrative duties and patient‐facing clinic responsibilities.

Key duties and responsibilities:
* Welcoming patients into the practice and recording them in Xestro
* Managing and coordinating patient appointments, cancellations and rescheduling appointments as necessary
* Handling all incoming and outgoing correspondence, including answering phone calls, responding to emails promptly and assisting patients with general enquiries
* Running patient clinics including processing patient billing and receipting following all patient consultations
* Providing general administrative support to the clinicians and collaborating closely with the team to ensure the smooth day‐to‐day running of a busy paediatric practice
Qualifications:
* At least 12 months experience working within a medical practice environment
* Strong understanding of Medicare, DVA, WorkCover and Private Health Fund billing
* Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality with a strong understanding of its importance
* A team player who can also work independently and contribute effectively to a team setting
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Experience using a medical software platform such as Xestro, Genie and/or Gentu for practice and patient management
* Clear, concise and professional communication skills
* Reliable, well‐presented, confident, courteous, and able to maintain composure in challenging situations
Remuneration:

A competitive hourly rate will be negotiated for a suitably experienced candidate. Located in Upper Mount Gravatt, the practice does have free car parking as well as ample street parking available in the surrounding area.
