**Department**
Ward 5 East consists of 32 beds, servicing 4 respiratory units: Adult and Paediatric Lung Transplant, General Respiratory and Sleep Studies; Cystic Fibrosis; and Allergy and Immunology Medicine.
5 East delivers care through a multidisciplinary team approach, which is facilitated by daily ward rounds and frequent team meetings.
**Position Summary**
The team at The Alfred Hospital is looking for someone with excellent customer service and patient focus to join their team. You will join our dynamic and passionate team in the position of Ward Clerk located on ward 5 East
- helping to care for patients and their families who have complex Respiratory conditions.
You will be responsible for the coordination of communication, patient services and clerical functions as directed by the Nurse Manager. Your goal is to promote and maintain good customer relations with patients, visitors, and other hospital staff.
**Skills and Experience Required**
Customer relations and excellent communication skills are essential to this role. You will ensure all patients, visitors and work colleagues and a variety of health professionals are provided with guidance and accurate information pertaining to the ward environment.
Experience with managing telephones and reception is essential. Excellent clerical and computer skills and the ability to multi-task are core skills required. Previous experience with Cerner, iPM and the electronic journey board are favourable!
