Seeking an experienced journalist to join our team as a rural specialist, creating compelling content for local and national audiences.
Job Description
* Gather and produce engaging stories about regional communities, highlighting the unique characters and culture of North West Queensland.
* Present programs such as the daily Rural Report, informing and connecting audiences across Australia.
* Collaborate with ABC teams to share content nationally, contributing to planning and commissioning new ideas that strengthen our rural coverage.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a working journalist, preferably with skills in live presentation and broadcast.
* Strong understanding of rural and regional issues, with a commitment to diversity in storytelling.
* Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision as part of a small team based in remote locations.
* Excellent communication skills, confident in building new relationships and nurturing a network of contacts.
