We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Technician (NSW) to support the operation and maintenance of our growing portfolio of solar and battery projects across New South Wales and surrounding regions.
This role is critical to ensuring asset performance, safety and compliance, and provides hands-on technical support across scheduled maintenance, corrective works and project handovers.
About the Role
Based in New South Wales and reporting to the O&M Manager, the Lead Electrical Technician delivers high-quality electrical maintenance and troubleshooting across interstate solar and battery assets. You will undertake planned regional service runs, support EPC-to-O&M handovers, manage NSW depot spares, and represent YES Group professionally with clients, vendors and network service providers.
This is a practical, field-focused role suited to a self-driven technician who enjoys autonomy, responsibility and working across a diverse asset portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
* Implement O&M Management Plans for NSW, VIC and ACT based projects
* Perform Quarterly and Annual preventative maintenance inspections
* Support and coordinate corrective maintenance activities
* Provide on-site electrical support to maintain asset performance and availability
Project & Handover Support
* Support EPC-to-O&M handovers and oversee completion of punch list items
* Perform site-based electrical labour for EPC projects when required
* Assist with warranty inspections, fault investigations and rectification works
Technical & Field Operations
* Undertake scheduled regional service runs and interstate travel as required
* Support portfolio monitoring and response for interstate sites
* Coordinate NSW depot-based spares, tools and deliveries
Reporting & Compliance
* Prepare client-based project reporting using company CRM
* Ensure all works comply with Australian Standards, network requirements and company procedures
* Adhere to the company Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) system
Leadership & Representation
* Provide guidance and support to Electrical Apprentices when required
* Represent YES Group professionally with clients, suppliers and DNSPs onsite
About You
You are a dependable, conscientious electrical technician with strong technical capability and a professional approach.
You will bring:
* Current Electrical Licence
* Experience in solar and/or battery O&M environments (highly regarded)
* Strong fault-finding, maintenance and troubleshooting skills
* Willingness to travel regionally and interstate as required
* High standards of safety, compliance and workmanship
* Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
