About the role
The role of Section Manager Financial Planning and Business Support is responsible for ensuring the organisation is supported by effective financial reporting and financial management systems and processes and, for delivering efficient and effective financial business partnering to internal stakeholders.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will see you be responsible for the annual review of Council's Long Term Financial Plan, and the Operational and Capital Budget as part of the development of Council's annual Operational Plan, and within the context of Council's overall Resourcing Strategy.
This position requires leadership of a team of financial professionals, focusing on delivering high quality financial services and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* a degree qualification in Finance or Accounting or relevant field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in delivering efficient and effective financial management systems and processes, combined with ongoing professional development
* extensive experience in a similar role in a large organisation
* proven success as a leader with the ability to grow and develop teams focused on quality outcomes and a customer focus
* significant experience in delivering accurate budgets and forecasts including the development of short and long-term financial plans
* extensive experience in supporting stakeholders with financial advice, systems and processes, to manage their respective business in a strategic, effective, and financially sustainable manner
* demonstrated experience in the strategic and operational oversight of financial systems
* the ability to develop business solutions for effective delivery of financial services operations for internal users and external customers.

* *This role offers a competitive total remuneration package commencing from *$182,205.02 per annum plus a leaseback vehicle or vehicle allowance valued at $207.31 per week.****
* We have a permanent full-time role available
* This role will be able to access a 19 day month
* We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role
* This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building.
A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council's Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.
Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
