About the Opportunity
The Proposal Engineer is a hybrid technical and commercial role responsible for designing water treatment solutions and leading the preparation of accurate, competitive proposals and cost estimates.
Working closely with Sales, Engineering and other internal stakeholders, you will develop compliant, fit-for-purpose system designs and translate them into commercially sound proposals that help secure new work across Australia.
Key responsibilities include :
Lead and support pre-sales activities, including go / no-go reviews, tenders, site visits and client briefings
Design compliant, fit-for-purpose water treatment solutions from concept through to detailed process design
Prepare and manage high-quality proposals, technical documentation and cost estimates
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop competitive bid strategies and validate designs and pricing
Review and approve tender and contract documentation, supporting client presentations and negotiations
Manage bid handover, post-bid reviews, reporting and forecasting, while staying across industry trends and innovation
What You Will Bring to the Role
Proven experience in water treatment industry.
Strong technical understanding of water treatment processes and system design.
Demonstrated experience developing proposals for engineered solutions.
Proven capability in estimating and developing solution costings.
Ability to interpret complex technical specifications and convert them into compliant, commercial solutions.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
Advanced Excel skills or equivalent costing and analysis tools exposure.
Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders.
Results-driven mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
