The Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take full oversight of our client's roofing operations in Adelaide. This senior role reports directly to the Director and is responsible for leading the team of site supervisors, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow across all projects, maintaining strong relationships with major clients, and coordinating effectively with contractors and suppliers. This is a hands‐on leadership position focused on keeping projects on schedule, maintaining high standards, and delivering consistent results for our residential and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all day‐to‐day roofing operations in Adelaide and provide direct leadership to site supervisors who report to you.
* Schedule and manage workflow across multiple projects to ensure jobs progress smoothly and efficiently.
* Act as the primary liaison with major clients — build and maintain strong relationships, communicate progress, manage expectations, and resolve any issues promptly.
* Liaise and coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure labour, materials, and resources when needed.
* Monitor project progress, identify potential bottlenecks early, and implement solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
* Ensure all work is completed safely, to a high quality standard, and in compliance with Australian Work Health and Safety regulations and building codes.
* Track key operational metrics such as on‐time completion, resource utilisation, and client satisfaction.
* Support cost control and contribute to continuous improvement in operational efficiency.
* Report directly to the Director on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Essential Requirements
* Significant experience in roofing operations, preferably in residential and/or commercial roofing (minimum 5–7+ years in a supervisory or management capacity).
* Proven track record managing site supervisors, crews, and subcontractors.
* Strong skills in scheduling, workflow planning, and coordinating multiple concurrent projects.
* Excellent client liaison and relationship management abilities — confident dealing with major clients.
* Solid understanding of roofing systems, materials, and installation practices for residential and commercial projects.
* Strong organisational and problem‐solving skills with the ability to keep work flowing under pressure.
* Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to visit sites regularly across Adelaide and regional SA.
* White Card (or equivalent) and sound knowledge of WHS requirements.
Highly Regarded
* Experience with both residential and commercial roofing projects in the Adelaide market.
* Trade qualifications in roofing, roof plumbing, or construction.
* Experience using job scheduling or project management software.
