The Parole Board Queensland is an independent authority and its statutory functions and powers are exercised independent from influence by Queensland Corrective Services (QCS). As an independent decision-making body, the Board receives information from a range of people, service providers and organisations. The Board scrutinizes the information it is provided with and maintains public confidence in the parole decision-making process through transparency in its processes.
The Secretariat is a business unit established under the Community Corrections and Specialist Operations division in QCS. The Secretariat supports the Board through the provision of administrative and legal support in accordance with QCS' statutory obligations relating to the operations of the Board.
You will need strong problem-solving, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to meet the challenges of a demanding work environment, to manage the Board\'s legal services unit with the capability to represent, prepare court documents, instruct counsel and personally appear for complex Board matters.
