About us:
Cassowary Area Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is part of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) and provides mental health services from Fishery Falls in the north to Bilyana in the south, and west to Palmerston in Tropical North Queensland. Services provided include intake/triage, assessments, case management, treatment interventions, and consultation with a health promotion and recovery focus. Mental health services across the lifespan are provided by a multidisciplinary team including mental health nursing, social work, psychology, psychiatry, occupational therapy and indigenous mental health workers.

About your role:
* Use the biopsychosocial model to conduct mental health assessments and assist consumers and families/supports to develop a comprehensive individual recovery plan and facilitate the effective delivery of care.
* Work with families and client's communities to promote recovery and community inclusion, co-ordinate/facilitate access to generic supports, services, opportunities and resources necessary to meet the consumer's identified needs and goals.
* Provide services including but not limited to mental health phone counselling and triage of urgency for rapid intervention or follow up for assessment, intake and review, community care home visits, case management and expedite referral across the service teams as clinically indicated. These activities can involve hospital and community service teams, other government departments, agencies private and NGO's.
