About the Role
As the Leading Hand in the Assembly team, you will oversee day-to-day workshop operations while remaining hands-on with production tasks. You'll coordinate team members, ensure builds are completed on time, and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety across all work — including advanced component installations.
Key Responsibilities
 * Lead and coordinate a small team of tradespeople and apprentices
 * Allocate daily tasks and monitor progress against production schedules
 * Provide hands-on support in trailer and component assembly, including:
 * Installation of power take-offs (PTOs)
 * Assembly and troubleshooting of ABS/EBS and air braking systems
 * Hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical fit-outs
 * Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards
 * Mentor, train, and support team members
 * Collaborate effectively with supervisors and other departments
About You
 * Proven experience as a Leading Hand, Team Leader, or Senior Tradesperson in a workshop environment
 * Strong background in heavy vehicle or trailer assembly and fit-out
 * Experience with PTOs, braking systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
 * Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
 * Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety
 * Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
 * A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented attitude
What's on Offer
 * $53p/h with penalty rates payable after 8hrs.
