Offshore Skipper Located offshore from Port Douglas Rotating roster 4 days on/2 days off Liveaboard required for 3 nights Starting salary $94,000 per annum Quicksilver Cruises, Australia's leading reef tourism operator, is seeking an experienced and motivated Offshore Skipper to join our team on the Great Barrier Reef.

This position operates on a 4 days on / 2 days off rotating roster and requires three consecutive nights living onboard our offshore vessel, based at Agincourt Reef.
The roster includes weekends and public holidays, including Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
While at sea, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe vessel operations, leading crew and delivering an exceptional experience for our guests.
About the RoleAs Offshore Skipper, you will be responsible for: Commanding and safely navigating our offshore vessel in line with AMSA requirements and company procedures Overseeing daily vessel operations, including mooring, tender launches and logistics at the reef platform Ensuring compliance with safety management systems and emergency response protocols Leading, supporting and mentoring crew to achieve high standards of service and safety Assisting with engineering duties, daily maintenance and monitoring vessel performance Providing clear and professional communication with guests and crew Applicants must have the following qualifications and experience Current Master Class <24m NC (essential), with experience in the commercial tourism industry preferred Current Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 with a minimum of two years' experience Minimum 2 years Offshore Caretaker Pontoon experience Minimum 2 years Offshore Vessel Master experience Proven ability to lead a rotating crew of deckhands Experience working a 4 on 2 day off roster that includes public holidays Experience with Detroit, MTU, Cummins, Scania and Deutz Diesel Engines (desirable) Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent people and communication skills, with a focus on safety and customer experience The benefits we offer Stability in a long-established business proud of their inclusive culture and working environment Discounted boat tours and cruises for your family and friends Discounted diving tours in Cairns and Port Douglas Corporate discounts on private health A wide range of special discounts with our industry partners and goods suppliers To apply To be considered for this role, please provide a cover letter and CV.
