But did you know we also have movie buffs, musicians and entrepreneurs, but most importantly we're all super proud to be part of the Quad Lock team.About The Role We're looking for a Head of Engineering to define and execute the engineering strategy behind Quad Lock's global product portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this role will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team across mechanical and electronic engineering, test and validation and compliance. Working closely with Product Design, Manufacturing, Operations, and Program Management, you'll drive innovation, technical excellence and operational performance to deliver market-leading products at scale.What You'll Do Engineering Strategy, Leadership & CollaborationDefine and execute a long-term engineering roadmap aligned with company growth and innovation goalsBuild and lead high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, firmware, test and validation and certification disciplinesEstablish scalable engineering processes, tools, and governance frameworks and integrate into the overarching Quad Lock Product Development ProcessFoster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvementSupport the implementation of PDM/PLM (Windchill) across the Engineering teamPromote truly collaborative ways of working across product development stakeholdersProduct Development & InnovationOversee the engineering aspects of New Product Development – from concept and prototyping through validation, tooling, compliance and mass productionDrive best‐in‐class design for durability, reliability and performance in demanding environments (cycling, moto, automotive)Lead advanced engineering initiatives including materials innovation, electronics integration and connected product capabilitiesEnsure robust testing, validation and compliance across global marketsBuild engineering capability (people and processes) to support OEM programs (cycle, moto and automotive)Ongoing assessment of current product performance and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives as requiredOperational ExcellencePartner with Manufacturing to optimise Design for Manufacture (DFM), product cost and production scalabilityDisciplined approach to the stage‐gate process and risk management frameworksContinuously seek opportunities to improve speed‐to‐market while maintaining premium product standardsPartner with Manufacturing to lead supplier technical engagement and manufacturing partner collaborationTest and Validation EngineeringLead the test and validation engineering function, providing guidance on best practices for testing and quality assuranceLead the expansion of Quad Lock's in‐house testing capability in MelbourneCompliance and CertificationDefine and execute a regulatory and compliance roadmap for the current and future product portfolioEnsure products comply with relevant international and regional regulationsCoordinate product recalls, corrective actions and root‐cause investigations, where necessaryWhat You'll Bring10+ years in product engineering leadership within consumer hardware, accessories, mobility or outdoor categoriesStrong background in mechanical engineering or similar discipline; experience in electronics and embedded systems highly regardedDemonstrated success building and scaling engineering teams in a fast‐paced environmentProven experience bringing complex physical products from concept to mass productionCommercial acumen and ability to balance performance, cost and time‐to‐marketProficiency in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks or equivalent)Strong knowledge of injection moulding, metals, plastics, elastomers and assembly processesStrong understanding of DFM, DFA and GD&TExperience working with offshore manufacturers (Asia experience highly regarded)Excellent problem‐solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and stakeholder management capabilityProficiency in PDM/PLM systems – implementation experience is an advantageA minimum Bachelor's degree is required in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldWhat it's like to work at Quad Lock At Quad Lock our customers mean the world to us but so does our team – by joining us you'll be able to take advantage of the amazing perks we have on offer:Flexible ways of working to fit your lifestyle Health & Wellbeing allowance to invest in your wellbeingTechnology allowance to stay connectedWeekly lunch on us to enhance your team connectionsDedicated learning & development allowance for continuous growthAccess to Learna, a microlearning platform to support ongoing developmentVolunteer Leave to support causes you're passionate about16 weeks of parental leave to support your growing familiesEmployee Assistance Program for team members and their familiesPaid Miscarriage & Pregnancy Loss Leave (Pink Elephant) supporting families during difficult timesJoin the Team Quad Lock is an equal opportunity employer, committed to supporting a diverse and inclusive work environment.
