Client is a specialist Global Enterprise Software Advisory firm dedicated to ensuring clients achieve greatest value and performance from their software entitlements. Guiding clients through optimisation, negotiation, and compliance across all elements and all vendors software licensing offers them the value and freedom to operate more efficiently and intelligently. SAP licensing structures have changed more often than other vendors’ with usage rights updated on a quarterly basis, as such, proving difficult for many SAP clients to have good handle on their licensing position over time and require experts like client to advise and guide them. As part of the SAP Practice this role provides guidance, support, and advice to help businesses navigate through their SAP contracts, agreements, obtain a compliance position and provide solutions or options for them to be able to minimise any potential commercial exposure. Additionally, services to assist with licence audits, licence optimisation, license conversions, software asset management, support services (e.g., switching to third party support, managed services reviews) and preparation for cloud migrations.
As part of this role, you may also be involved in additional activities throughout the lifecycle of a client engagement from proposal to the final reporting, inclusive of Advisory. E.g., S/4 HANA / Cloud Migration and Strategy Advisory.
Primary responsibilities:
1. Expanding on an established understanding of SAP licensing
2. Reviewing SAP contracts to determine entitlements, definitions of use and any special clauses.
3. Analysing SAP usage reports and measurement documents (USMM, SLAW, LMBI, etc), to derive a client’s compliance position.
4. Building an understanding of SAP Architecture
5. Attending and participating in client meetings
6. Working closely with SAP architects and senior executives to deliver client value.
7. Staying aware of the SAP roadmap and how this may impact licensing.
8. Mapping a client’s business process
9. Researching SAP business problems and proposing solutions
10. Helping to continually improve and optimise the SAP licensing service line.
11. Other duties as required.
12. The primary objective of this role will be to support the team in delivering high quality and efficient SAP advisory engagements.
Skills and Experience:
13. At least 5 years’ experience working in SAP, either doing implementations and/or system support
14. Experience in leading a small team.
15. Experience in report writing and developing presentations.
16. Experience in SAP Licensing Measurement processes (USMM, SLAW/2, LMBI, etc)
17. Familiarity with SAP functional and technical concepts, ideally having SAP hands-on configuration, Basis, security, and/or development experience.
18. General knowledge of the SAP portfolio, architecture, and roadmap
19. Ability to analyse large datasets, primarily within spreadsheets (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
20. Ability to derive insights from data and communicate them to key stakeholders.
21. Business process experience is highly desirable.
22. Management consulting experience is highly desirable.
