The General Surgeon will be a valued member of the Surgical & Perioperative division to undertake elective and trauma components of General Surgery. The Unit provides assessment and treatment to patients of Albury Wodonga Health General Surgical Services. The Unit also provides direct responsibility to the Emergency Department surgical patients.
Employment Type: This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Provide elective and trauma General Surgery services as part of the Surgical & Perioperative division.
- Contribute to assessment, treatment, and ongoing care for General Surgical patients, including the Emergency Department surgical caseload.
Qualifications
- A primary medical qualification which permits registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a recognised Fellowship which permits Specialist level registration, or Eligible for Specialists Area of Need AHPRA registration, or equivalent General Surgery Specialist Qualifications recognised by RACS.
- Significant experience in General Surgical practice.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical quality improvement and peer review.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education relevant to General Surgery.
