The Queensland Digital Cadetship program is designed for university students seeking paid, part-time work in their chosen discipline while they continue their studies. A cadetship placement offers the opportunity for self-motivated students to broaden their experience and give them an understanding of the work Queensland Government does.
Appointed cadets can expect their placements to commence between late October to mid November 2025.
What does the program offer?
Our cadetship is your opportunity to achieve great things for yourself and for Queensland by working with highly skilled professionals in a diverse and flexible environment.
From the moment you join our 12-month cadetship program, our focus is on providing you with exposure to areas that complement your study and help you reach your full potential. We offer you:
* a 12-month temporary part-time engagement with a minimum of two days paid work per week (14.5 hours per fortnight plus generous leave provisions)
* salary is as per applicable enterprise bargaining agreement. As an indicator, the State Government Entities Certified Agreements 2023 minimum AO2 rate, effective 1 July 2025, for 4 days per fortnight, is $920.44.

* To be eligible for our 2025 cadetship, you must meet the following criteria:
* Currently be in your penultimate year (second last year) of university studies, expecting to graduate between June 2026 to December 2026.
* Studying in one of the following areas:
o information technology, cloud computing, cyber security, computer science, data analytics, robotics, information management, mathematics, business
* Be able to commit to work a minimum of two days per week whilst continuing your tertiary studies.
* Be able to physically attend work at a South-East Queensland-based location for the full duration of the one-year program.
* be an Australian citizen, a resident of Australia, or have working rights, under Commonwealth law, to work in Australia.
