Overview
Join the team that keeps our city green and thriving as an Open Spaces Operator. We are seeking a dedicated and proactive team member to support the maintenance and enhancement of Council's Open Spaces and assets. This role involves hands-on labouring activities and mowing across the city, ensuring public areas are kept in optimal condition through efficient use of resources and adherence to Council standards. The successful candidate will assist in the upkeep and security of equipment, tools, and infrastructure, while identifying opportunities for operational improvements and contributing to the review of completed works. The role requires a practical mindset, attention to safety and a commitment to maintaining high standards in public environments. Responsibilities
Carry out general open spaces maintenance duties, including the operation of hand-held and ride-on self-propelled plant.
Support maintenance and enhancement of Council's Open Spaces and assets; assist in upkeep and security of equipment, tools and infrastructure.
Identify opportunities for operational improvements and contribute to the review of completed works.
Ideal candidate / Qualifications
Ou ideal candidate will have: Certificate II or III in: Nursery, Parks and Gardens, Landscape, Conservation Land Management, Arboriculture or Turf Maintenance.
Proven experience in open spaces maintenance, including front deck mowers and related equipment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork and public interaction.
Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Solid understanding of WHS, statutory requirements and quality systems.
Willingness to contribute to business and quality system improvements.
Basic competency in using computers and mobile devices.

Permanent full time, 38 hours per week with the chance to work a 9-day fortnight. Commencing salary range from $58,042 - $61,595 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Plus 12% superannuation. An Adverse Working Conditions Allowance (Level 1) of $19.49 per week in accordance with the applicable award.

Requirements and Application details
Applicants must have the willingness and ability to obtain the following licences and certifications prior to commencement or within a specified timeframe: Current NSW Driver's Licence - Class C; General Construction Induction Card (White Card); Traffic Controllers Ticket; Farm Chemical Users Certificate Or Equivalent.
