The McCorry Brown Earthmoving group of companies
is headquartered in Broome, Western Australia and has been family owned and operated since commencement in 1989. Together with subsidiary operations West Kimberley Cement (Broome and Port Hedland) and Frontier Cement Supplies (Darwin) the companies service the Pilbara, Kimberley and Top End regions in earthmoving and civil contracting, quarry operations producing construction materials, bulk cement import from Asia and the supporting transport distribution logistics for all of the company's activities.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitable applicant to join our team based in Broome as a Work Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (WHSEQ) Manager. This is a dynamic full-time position which offers long term job security to the successful applicant.
Responsibilities
Drive consistent and continuous improvement in HSEQ practices and standards including reporting progress and performance and identifying areas of improvement
Ensure workplace compliance with WHS and Environmental laws
Provide HSEQ leadership, advice and support to all workers and sub-contractors
Develop and continuously improve risk management processes
Advise and assist project personnel in the successful implementation of project HSEQ systems and processes
Maintain and continuously improve the MBE HSEQ Management System that is certified to ISO 9001(Quality) & ISO 45001 (OHS) and work towards gaining certification in ISO 14001 (Environment)
Coordinate the external audit schedule associated with third party HSEQ certifications
Develop best practice in HSEQ matters across all aspects of the business through inspections, audits, investigations, and corrective actions
Develop and conduct inductions, internal training and safety awareness as required
Manage and lead incident investigations
Maintain a structured WHSEQ Records and Information system
Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Perform other duties within the organisation that may be necessary to suit operational requirements, (Admin and account relief duties).
To be successful in this position prospective applications should possess:
An understanding of HSEQ systems being integrated into and supporting all company activities and processes on a day-to-day operating capacity.
Ability to integrate new safety systems into business structure without the creation of conflict with the fundamental drivers of the business enterprise.
Investigative and analytical skills.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in developing and building rapport to gain cooperation from people in challenging and confronting situations.
Effective and thorough case management.
Experience and Qualifications
To be successful in this position you will pride yourself on the safety of others, showing an interest in the trading activities of the business group and someone who excels in multi-tasking. You will have the ability to work independently or as part of a team providing positivity to the group's work environment and possessing a positive can-do attitude.
Skills & Requirements
Experience within a related industry is highly desirable
Minimum 5 + years' experience in a similar role.
Experience managing Quality (ISO 9001), Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 45001) and Environmental (ISO 14001) Certified Management Systems
Construction Industry General Induction (White Card)
Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
Current and valid manual drivers' licence
Current First Aid Certificate
National Police Clearance
Experience using SkyTrust WHS Management System a bonus
