We invite applications for the Manager Regulatory City Compliance Services role at the City of Wagga Wagga. This senior management position leads strategic management of compliance services, environmental health and regulatory services across the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Director Community, the Manager Regulatory Compliance Services will lead the strategic management of... ensuring effective delivery of services in accordance with relevant legislation and aligned to the City's Community Strategic Plan.

Annual salary range of $130,000 to $150,000 (inclusive of 12% superannuation)

Key Responsibilities
Lead, engage and develop the Regulatory City Compliance team to achieve the best organisational and community outcomes in service delivery.
Manage the functional areas of the Regulatory City Compliance Division, including environmental and development compliance services, environmental health services, ranger and regulatory services, animal welfare and shelter services, animal management and compliance, and environmental health, regulatory and companion animal education.
Ensure compliance with regulatory responsibilities under various Acts, Regulations, Codes and Standards, including policies, practices, procedures, licensing and statutory reporting.
Advise and recommend legal action resulting from legislative breaches, oversee evidence and affidavits for legal forums, brief legal representatives and make appearances in court as required.
Lead and deliver on council priority projects assigned to the Regulatory City Compliance Division.
Ensure actions are consistent with Council's policies and plans, proactively intervening to prevent developments from reaching enforcement and infringement stages.
Manage operational and service-related requests effectively and work across relevant Council Directorates and Divisions to maintain communication and meet council standards, intervening early to resolve issues.
Build and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to meet Council objectives and service delivery outcomes.
Provide advice and reports to the Director in a timely manner.
Maintain rigorous management of expenditure and public funds for all activities on behalf of Council.
Manage contracts relevant to the Division.
Attend and participate in Council, committee and community meetings, workshops and forums, including those held after hours, as required.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for experienced professionals with:
Tertiary qualifications relevant to regulatory services management or a related discipline and proven experience in a similar leadership position.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to develop and maintain a positive team culture, manage staff performance and identify and nurture talent.
Substantial knowledge and experience in regulatory & animal welfare, compliance, governance or related services and programs.
Highly developed communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, including sound conflict resolution, negotiation, presentation and facilitation skills.
