Overview

Dairy Tech Solutions is seeking a full time Mechanical Engineering Technician - Dairy Systems to service dairy farms across the Shoalhaven and Illawarra regions.

Qualifications

Applicants should have relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related technical field, together with demonstrated previous experience in mechanical maintenance, dairy equipment, industrial machinery or related electromechanical systems.

The role requires the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults, perform preventative maintenance, and support installation and commissioning of dairy systems. Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems is required. Refrigeration experience, welding skills, and familiarity with hydraulic systems will be highly regarded. Demonstrated ability to safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools and cordless electrical tools is essential. A full driver licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical systems used in dairy farming operations, including milking platforms, vacuum pump systems essential to dairy milking operations, milk transfer systems and associated equipment.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults in dairy machinery and milking systems to minimise production downtime.
• Performing preventative maintenance on motors, gearboxes, pumps, compressors and hydraulic systems used in dairy operations.
• Assisting with installation, commissioning and testing of new dairy equipment and mechanical systems.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals and specifications related to mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Conducting routine inspections and servicing of refrigeration systems used for milk cooling and storage.
• Carrying out electrical fault-finding and basic electrical maintenance within permitted scope.
• Recording maintenance activities, faults and repairs in accordance with workplace procedures and safety standards.
• Liaising with engineers, farm managers and suppliers to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.
• Ensuring all work complies with Australian workplace health and safety regulations.

Salary

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
