* Department for Health and Wellbeing – Strategy and Governance – Strategy and Intergovernment Relations & Child Health Policy Unit
* Salary: $76,561 to $80,256 – ASO4 – Full Time / Ongoing appointment

The Strategy & Governance division leads SA Health's negotiations with the Commonwealth Government on federated funding agreements and national health reform, representing South Australia's interests at the national level and ensuring the best deal possible for the State. We develop statewide strategies to improve SA's health outcomes and address the needs of our priority populations, while also providing leadership in governance, legal, compliance, and records management across SA Health.

Child Health Policy Unit (CHPU)

The CHPU collaborates with health services, government agencies and across jurisdictions to harness information and expertise to support health services to improve outcomes for culturally diverse, vulnerable children and their families.

Key Functions:

* Maintain policies and training that supports SA Health to safeguard vulnerable populations.
* Use data and evidence to improve equity, strengthen quality improvement and enhance practice.
* Ensure that SA Health can collect and share information that informs both practice and service planning to improve the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and their families.

Strategy & Intergovernment Relations (S&IGR)

The Strategy and Intergovernment Relations Unit help the South Australian Government and Minister for Health and Wellbeing deliver on its vision for improved health outcomes for our community. We deliver this through leading and facilitating whole of system strategy and direction setting and representing SA Health's priorities both on the national stage and across government.

Key Functions:

* Leads policy and funding agreement negotiations with the Commonwealth and other jurisdictions.
* Develop SA Health's strategic plan.
* Identifies and responds to emerging strategic health issues.
* Supports Heath Chief Executive Forum and Health Minister Meetings providing internal advice on national policy priorities.

Overview

* The Executive Coordinator is responsible for providing confidential, high-quality support, administrative services, briefing and project coordination and project work to ensure the efficient management and operation of the Strategy and Intergovernment Relations Branch & the Child Health Policy Unit.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

* A 'National Police Certificate' NPC (also known as a 'Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check' NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)
* A DHS 'Working With Children Check' (WWCC) is required for this position.

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
