Call or Contact Centre Operator – NSW Government Location: Maitland Contact Centre, NSW Employment Type: Contract (May 2025 – November 2025) Pay Rate: $34.59 per hour Super Hours: 35 hours per week | 7-hour shifts | Rotating Roster (Monday-Sunday) Join a dynamic NSW Government team as a Call or Contact Centre Operator at the Maitland Contact Centre. We're looking for motivated individuals to deliver exceptional customer service in a high-volume environment. You’ll be working on a 6am–10pm rotating roster, Monday through Sunday, including public holidays. Rosters rotate every two weeks – alternating between early, mid, and late shifts. What You'll Do: Handle inbound customer enquiries via phone and email Accurately input data and resolve customer concerns Apply strong communication and problem-solving skills Use multiple systems and adapt to new software quickly Work independently post-training with ongoing team support What We're Looking For 2–3 years’ experience in customer service (call centre, retail, admin) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and basic computer skills Strong typing, email etiquette, and system navigation Experience in government or office settings desirable Must be based in NSW and able to work on-site at Maitland Training & Onboarding Location: Maitland Contact Centre Duration: 10–12 weeks full-time (classroom style training and nesting) Daily attendance required during training for optimal onboarding Hybrid Work (Post-Training – Subject to Assessment) Not 100% remote Hybrid options available after assessment Must attend on-site at least 1 day per week post training Reliable internet and mobile phone required if working from home Internet speed test required for hybrid eligibility
