The Role
This residential role in Mount Isa requires working closely with the Senior Reliability Engineer – Concentrator Maintenance to optimise maintenance strategies, conduct failure investigations, maintain and enhance condition monitoring programs, and manage equipment risk using data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilising condition monitoring data to identify and report on equipment risks.
2. Managing statutory equipment with assistance from the Asset Management team.
3. Optimising reliability, eliminating losses, maximising utilisation, and asset life in a safe and cost-effective manner.
4. Developing and implementing minor improvement projects around the Concentrator.
5. Reviewing, developing, and aligning maintenance strategies with production, maintenance, and other stakeholders.
6. Working with stakeholders to identify and develop engineering solutions to reduce repetitive failures and issues affecting plant operations.
7. Demonstrating proficiency in maintenance management systems (SAP), 3D CAD software, and Microsoft Office suite, as well as experience in Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centred Maintenance, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
8. Mentoring graduate engineers and vacation students.
Required Skillset and Attributes:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Proactive, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
3. Ability to work under pressure in a multi-disciplinary team.
4. Focus on safety through care rather than compliance.
5. Autonomous work capability.
Desirable Experience:
1. 2 years' experience in heavy industry.
2. Experience in condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis and oil sampling.
3. Proficiency in SAP maintenance management system.
