We're looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Financial Accountant to support our Corporate Finance team. In this role, you'll work closely with the team and contribute to local and international financial reporting and analysis to help ensure our operations run smoothly and compliantly.
You will join a local team and be backed with global expertise as well as a tailored professional development program to ensure you and your work are successful.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly reconciliation of corporate general ledger accounts.
Ensure supporting work papers enable efficient reviews by senior finance staff and auditors.
Assist in the preparation of financial information for lodgement to, and consolidation by, the parent company.
Ensure adherence to the company's documented financial policies and procedures.
Assist in the preparation of the company's statutory financial statements.
Ability to draw on prior experience to analyse and solve difficult to complex problems that are general in nature and may require understanding a broad set of issues across other work areas.
Understanding and knowledge of Australian equivalents of the International Financial Reporting Standards (AIFRS)Experience explaining policies, practices, and procedures in relation to the work area to others within the organisation and when necessary work to influence decision-makers and gain cooperation of other parties on policies, practices, and procedures
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Desired a University Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience required.
Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
Requires practical knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to the business with the ability to make enhancements and leverage knowledge in daily work.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to facilitate a decision-making process.
Successful candidates must be an Australian citizen and/or able to obtain and maintain Australian Defence security clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva.
