Are you a veterinarian looking to extend your skills alongside 6 other veterinarians and provide excellent standards of pet care? Sugarloaf Animal Hospital, nestled between Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley, is looking for a part-time veterinarian for a minimum of 2 days with at least 3 years of experience to join our friendly team as we are expanding.
Why join us?
Professional growth and development: provide high standards of GP care to dogs/cats, and advanced levels of care to a range of exotic species. A great opportunity to expand your skills in dealing with exotic patients if interested (although experience is not essential). Our appointments run from 30-60 mins to ensure appropriate time for thorough patient care and client communication. We also offer other entitlements you would usually expect.
Work-life balance: our FT vets work a four-day week with a 10 hour shift from 8am to 6pm and an hour long lunch break, dedicated pathology/call back time, well scheduled appointments, and no dedicated after hours work and no sole charge work. The position is likely to include Saturdays on a rotation basis during which we are only open for half a day. We have a high nurse to vet ratio for support, and dedicated receptionists.
High quality care: our clinic offers a variety of services including dental radiographs for all patients, ultrasonography, digital radiography, endoscopy, medical laser therapy, ability to perform exotic bloodwork and procedures, amongst other things. Our team of nurses are highly skilled and experienced in treating all the species that we see at the clinic.
Fun work culture: we are a team of young vets and nurses who are always enthusiastic about patient care, advances in veterinary medicine, all while having a little fun. We also have monthly pot-luck lunches which has become somewhat of a tradition here at Sugarloaf, and on Fridays we wear fun scrubs!
There is potential for this role to become a full-time position in the longer term.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic veterinarian who:
* Has at least 2-3 years of experience with small animals. Interest or experience with exotic animal medicine is not essential.
* Is a strong team player
* Is a great communicator who values building rapport with clients
* Is keen to learn and grow professionally, and maintain updated practices of veterinary medicine.
