Contract: 6 months (with potential extension) About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Systems Administrator to join a critical program of work within a large-scale transformation initiative.
This role offers the opportunity to deliver impactful outcomes across complex IT environments while supporting mission-critical applications and services.
You will play a key part in designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure cloud services, ensuring security, performance, and reliability in a dynamic enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities Administer, configure, and maintain Azure cloud services to support enterprise-wide applications.
Lead system analysis, design, and development of cloud-based solutions.
Implement and enforce security, access, and governance standards (RBAC, IAM, Azure Policy).
Manage Azure networking including VNets, VPNs, NSGs, VWAN, ExpressRoute, and Firewall configurations.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
Support CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for deployment automation.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents, outages, and system performance issues.
Produce clear technical documentation and user procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Skills & Experience (Essential) Minimum 5 years' recent experience as an Azure Systems Administrator in enterprise-scale environments.
Strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, RBAC, IAM.
Proven expertise with Azure networking: VNets, NSGs, VPN, ExpressRoute, Firewall.
Experience implementing and managing Azure Policy, Private Endpoints, and Private DNS.
Hands-on skills with Terraform, ARM templates, and Bicep for Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and stakeholder communication skills.
Familiarity with ITIL service management frameworks.
Desirable / Nice-to-Have Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Data Factory, Dataverse.
Previous experience in justice, government, or highly regulated environments.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, computer science, or related fields.
