Job Description - Site Engineer - Civil (264652)
The UGL/TasWater alliance are currently recruiting for aSite Engineerto ensure that construction activities on site are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project's design, quality, and regulatory requirements.
This is a full time, fixed term contract role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily site operations related to civil and mechanical construction activities, ensuring alignment with TasWater's quality, safety, and environmental standards.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and TasWater representatives to ensure effective communication and timely progress of works.
• Track project milestones, review construction drawings, and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records including site diaries, quality assurance documents, and daily progress reports; assist with preparation of ITP's, RFI's and NCRs as needed.
• Promote and enforce compliance with all health, safety and environmental protocols on site, identifying and mitigating potential risks proactively.
About You
• Tertiary Qualification in Engineer, (civil or mechanical engineering preferred) with eligibility for Engineers Australia membership being advantageous.
• Experience in Water Infrastructure Projects – Prior involvement in water or wastewater treatment plant construction or major utility infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of methodologies – including the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and apply relevant codes and standards.
• Proficiency in site documentation and systems – familiarity with construction management tools (e.g Aconex, Procure, or similar), and experience preparing ITP's, SWMS, RFI's, and progress reports.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills – ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractor performance in a dynamic site environment.

TasWater's Capital Delivery Office (CDO) is responsible for delivering TasWater's major infrastructure projects. These extensive, interesting, and varied works form part of TasWater's $1.1 billion, capital works program that is being rolled out across the state of Tasmania.
The CDO is an alliance formed between TasWater, CPB Contractors, and UGL Limited (both members of the CIMIC Group) along with WSP Australia, to create the TasWater Capital Delivery Office. Our business delivers timely, cost-effective, quality capital works solutions to meet the needs of TasWater stakeholders, and communities across Tasmania. While ensuring the best long-term water supply and sewage treatment solutions are out in place, we are also introducing new technologies.
