Position Summary
The School Health Nurse will play a pivotal role in the delivery and coordination of health services tailored for school-aged children in remote communities. This position is integral to fostering health education, promoting immunizations, and facilitating connections to specialist services for children aged 4-17 years, alongside their families and communities.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake a range of responsibilities including:
* Providing evidence-based health care and education to children and families, aligned with the KAMS Model of Care and relevant health protocols.
* Engaging with key stakeholders to identify service gaps and collaboratively develop effective health programs.
* Conducting routine immunizations and promoting community health literacy regarding school health.
* Collecting and monitoring health data for reporting and evaluation purposes, contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
* Experience in managing and evaluating school health services in an Indigenous context.
* Strong understanding of the health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
* Effective communication skills with the ability to deliver educational sessions to diverse audiences.
* Current WA driver's licence and willingness to travel independently.

Salary & Benefits
This position offers a competitive base salary of $123,901, along with additional benefits including a $13,000 accommodation allowance, $2,149 district allowance (single), $4,298 (double), $1,440 electricity allowance, and $1,285 annual airfare allowance plus superannuation and salary packaging
