Aviair is seeking a highly motivated and friendly individual to come onboard as a Freight and Vehicle Fleet Coordinator based in Kununurra.
As a Freight and Vehicle Fleet Coordinator, you will play a central role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant movement of freight through the Kununurra base. The role also oversees the coordination and upkeep of the company vehicle fleet. A strong focus on safety, accuracy, communication, and customer service is essential.
Key Duties and responsibilities of the role include:
Management of all acceptance, handling, and processing of all incoming and outgoing freight in accordance with Aviair Safety and Quality procedures.
Ensure all freight movements are accurately recorded and tracked within our system, maintaining data integrity and compliance.
Conduct regular checks to ensure freight documentation is complete, correct, and compliant with regulatory and company standards.
Coordinate the collection of mail and freight from local suppliers, ensuring timely pickup and delivery to base.
Prepare freight for dispatch, including labelling, weighing, securing, and verifying content as required.
Liaise with our Pilots and Operations team to coordinate the daily schedule and ensure all freight is prepared.
Weigh, sort, and distribute incoming freight received.
Serve as primary point of contact for all freight destinations.
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure freight priorities are understood and met.
Provide clear updates to the Operations teams regarding freight status, delays, or issues require escalation.
Overseeing fleet readiness by ensuring vehicles are safe, well maintained, and consistently available for company operations.
Oversee the company vehicle fleet, ensuring all vehicles are maintained to a high standard of safety and reliability.
Coordinating schedule services, repairs, cleans, and inspections with approved maintenance providers.
Key skills required:
Current Dangerous Goods Acceptance Certificate
Current Forklift License
Manual Driver's license (MR Preferred)
Excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office and logistics software
Strong organisational and communication skills with attention to detail and time management.
A team player with the ability to take ownership of the role and support other key staff within the business.
