As the Systems & Innovation Specialist (Risk and Insurance) you will be responsible for the effective ownership, administration, and continuous improvement of the Synod's Insurance and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems. The role ensures these systems are reliable, user‐centered, compliant, and aligned with organisational priorities.

About You:
You are a proactive and solutions focused professional who enjoys working with both systems, risk and people. You bring strong discipline, excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical outcomes.
You are comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and delivering results in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and administer the Synod's Insurance and GRC systems, ensuring system reliability, security, usability, and compliance.
* Lead the identification, planning, and delivery of system enhancements and process improvements arising from annual insurance and GRC reviews.
* Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, congregations, presbyteries, and external vendors to ensure systems meet organizational and user needs.
* Manage the delivery of contracted GRC software programs, including budgets, timelines, vendor performance, and contractor coordination.
* Oversee system integrations with agency platforms, WHS, compliance, fleet, and contractor management systems.
* Lead digitalisation and innovation initiatives that streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
* Plan and deliver complex system and digital projects using the Synod's Portfolio, Program and Project (PPP) Framework.
* Identify and manage program and project risks, issues, and change control, providing exception advice where tolerances are at risk.
* Prepare clear, high‐quality reporting and briefings for senior leaders and governance forums.
What You'll Bring
* A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. information systems, business, risk, insurance, or similar).
* Formal qualifications or certification in program or project management (Highly desirable).
* Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise software systems or complex digital programs across large or multi-site organisations.
* Experience managing vendors, budgets, timelines, and system integrations.
* Strong understanding of GRC, insurance, or compliance-related systems (or the ability to rapidly develop this expertise).
* Well‐developed written, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong planning, problem‐solving, and organisational skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Additional Information
* Some travel within Queensland may be required.

* A current driver's licence is required.
* The successful applicant will be required to hold and maintain a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or be eligible to obtain one prior to commencement.
