As a Disability Support Worker at Bamara, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Dubbo. Responsibilities:
* Providing direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities according to their individualised NDIS plans.
* Assisting clients with daily activities while promoting independence and community participation.
* Supporting clients in developing life skills, including personal care, household tasks, and social interactions.
* Implementing strategies to address challenging behavior's and promote positive outcomes for clients.
* Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting on client progress and any incidents or concerns.
* Engaging with clients in a respectful and person-centered manner to understand their needs and preferences.
* Delivering high-quality support services that align with the goals outlined in each client's NDIS plan.
* Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, families, and other service providers to ensure holistic care for clients.
* Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements related to disability support services. Desired Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in providing support and care for individuals with disabilities (highly regarded).
* Must have an extensive availability and be able to work on weekends, morning, day, afternoon and night shifts.
* Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its processes (highly regarded)
* Ability to communicate effectively with people with disabilities, their families, and support networks
* Demonstrated understanding of person-centred approaches to disability support
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
* Capability to assist with daily living activities and personal care tasks
* Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the rights of people with disabilities
* Certification in First Aid
* Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred)
