A leading implementation science research program at The University of Sydney invites applications for a Research Associate position.
Job Description
The successful candidate will contribute to multidisciplinary implementation research projects focused on new models of care for cardiovascular genetic conditions such as familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH).
Primarily, the role involves coordinating two projects funded by the MRFF and NIH to improve the detection of FH. One project will examine the sustainability of screening programs internationally, while the other will focus on implementing state family cascade testing centres for FH.
In this role, you will design, conduct, and publish research in collaboration with our health service partners, involving qualitative interviews and focus groups, intervention co-design, survey design and analysis, and quantitative data collection and analysis from routinely available hospital systems.
You will work with a team of researchers led by Dr. Mitchell Sarkies and liaise with a range of academics, research and administrative staff, and industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct qualitative interviews and focus groups to co-develop and evaluate the implementation of care models of improve the detection of familial hypercholesterolaemia
* Undertake surveys and quantitative studies to assess the implementation of changes within the health system
* Facilitate and contribute to strengthening the capability of project partners to use implementation science research and evaluation methods
* Lead and contribute to academic publications in high quality journals, national and international conference presentations and other dissemination activities
* Lead and contribute to applications for competitive research grant funding to deliver research impact
* Co-supervise higher degree research students and contribute to a positive workplace culture that values diversity of thought, collaboration, excellence, and achieving outcomes
