We are seeking a Growing Assistant to join our dedicated Growing Department. This is an exciting opportunity to build your skills in mushroom cultivation and develop a career in horticulture with an industry leader.
As a Growing Assistant, you will work closely with the Head Grower, Harvest Supervisors and the wider team to support all stages of mushroom cultivation — from filling and growing to harvesting.
Our growing rooms are indoors and temperature‐controlled, allowing precise management of growing conditions year‐round. This hands‐on role suits someone who enjoys practical, physical work, pays close attention to detail, and wants to learn about controlled‐environment food production.
You will play an important part in helping maintain optimum growing conditions and ensuring top‐quality mushroom yields.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Grower in daily growing operations and room inspections.
Monitor growing conditions including temperature, humidity, and airflow.
Record and report data accurately to support crop monitoring and yield performance.
Support the setup and turnaround of growing rooms between crops.
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in all work areas.
Follow all company policies, WHS standards, and food safety regulations.
About You
A keen interest in horticulture, food production, or mushroom growing.
Certificate in Horticulture (preferred).
Previous experience in horticulture, agriculture, or food manufacturing.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment.
Physically fit and comfortable working in indoor, temperature‐controlled environments.
Commitment to maintaining safety and quality at all times.
Australian work authorisation is required for this position.
