Overview
Senior Network Engineer (Health Manager Level 4) – eHealth NSW, part of NSW Health. Permanent ongoing opportunity with in-office presence and hybrid flexibility in Chatswood, St Leonards, or Charlestown. Attractive salary up to $169,151 + 12% Super + 17.5% annual leave loading. Accrue up to 12 extra days off per year + 4 weeks annual leave. This role contributes to enriching health through digital innovation.

In This Role
* Build, develop, and maintain complex and critical projects, ensuring technical governance
* Participate in the consultation process as the SME of SSE platform, understanding business and customer needs
* Develop technical roadmaps and business processes for operational matters, including managing relationships with the business and managed service providers
* Collaborate with the team, wider business, and external partners – including knowledge sharing sessions and education as a SME
* Demonstrate agile ways of working and continuous self-growth to meet changing business needs
Note: This role is internally referred to as Senior Systems Engineer.
About You
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Extensive demonstrated experience in network security engineering, including intermediate knowledge of cloud-delivered security services or SSE technologies
* Expert knowledge of SSE technologies, frameworks (SWG, CASB, ZTNA, FWaaS) and associated vendors
* Strong understanding of Zero Trust principles and secure access models
* Hands-on experience managing policies across multi-tenant environments
* Experience with automation & orchestration (Python, Terraform, Azure Pipelines or equivalent)
* Solid knowledge of routing, VPN, DNS, TLS/SSL, and other network fundamentals
* Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls
* Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
Desirable Skills
* Experience with large-scale, global enterprise deployments
* Knowledge of broader SASE components (e.g., SD-WAN, DLP, IoT security)
* Cloud security and compliance experience with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP
* Relevant certifications from Zscaler, Netskope, Cisco, Public Cloud Platforms, etc
