Bundaberg Walkers Engineering Ltd (BWEL) is a large manufacturing company, dedicated to providing innovative solutions and superior service. Due to an internal transition, we are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Graduate Accountant to join our finance team and support the company's financial operations.
Role Overview:
In the role of Graduate Accountant, you will be instrumental in delivering monthly financial results to management and supporting a variety of administrative and accounting tasks across the business. Working closely with the finance team, you will receive mentorship and guidance to help ensure the efficient operation of financial processes, while actively contributing to the company's overall goals. This position is located in the Bundaberg office.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly management financial reports for senior management.
Monthly Stocktakes: Involvement in inventory stocktakes to ensure accurate reporting.
General Ledger Reconciliations: Perform general ledger reconciliations and prepare appropriate journals.
BAS Returns: Involvement in statutory compliance including GST/BAS
Accounts Receivable (AR):
* Learn and assist with invoicing and receipting.
* Follow up on overdue debtors.
* Set up new debtors and manage applications for debtor insurance coverage.
Capital & Lease Applications: Manage capital expenditure requests and lease applications.
Audit Queries: Support with the annual Group audit.
ABS Surveys: Preparation and lodgement of ABS surveys.
Ad-Hoc Projects: Provide support on various finance-related projects as required.
Key Requirements:
* A completed or near-completed degree in Accounting or a related field.
* Ability to work full-time in the Bundaberg office.
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Looking for a long-term career in Finance and Accounting.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with accounting software is a plus.
* Previous experience in accounting or a similar role is preferred, but not essential.
