About the Studio
Our client is a leading Brisbane-based VFX studio, delivering high-end visual effects for both long-form projects and commercials. As the studio continues to expand, they are seeking a Dual HR & Recruitment professional to help strengthen their crew planning, streamline recruitment, and support day-to-day HR administration.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, creative environment and wants to grow their career in people operations within the VFX industry.
This is an in-studio role, with some hybrid flexibility available as necessary. Please note you must have the current right to work in Australia to apply for this role. Our client is happy to relocate for the successful candidate, but cannot provide visa support.
Key Responsibilities
- Crew Planning: Proactively manage and forecast crew requirements, balancing needs between long-form projects and commercials.
- Recruitment & Resourcing: Draft and post job advertisements, collate resumes, assist team leaders in interview scheduling, and maintain organized recruitment pipelines.
- HR Administration: Prepare contracts, support onboarding, and handle general HR tasks with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Systems & Processes: Keep recruitment activity centralized across key channels (LinkedIn, studio website, Facebook, etc.) and maintain up-to-date records.
- Industry Awareness: Stay informed on HR legislation changes, workplace compliance, and recruitment best practices.
Skills & Experience
- VFX industry experience preferred - understanding the nuances between specialist roles (e.g., Houdini Effects Artist vs. Tracker) will help you hit the ground running.
- Familiarity with crew planning software such as Shotgrid, Farmer's Wife, or Projectile is a plus, but not essential.
- Experience with Employment Hero or similar HR databases is desirable.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ideal Candidate
- You will have solid recruitment and HR experience in the creative industries - you'll know your Houdini from your Nuke.
- Crew Planning experience a bonus.
- Confident, resourceful, and adaptable, with a genuine interest in supporting creative teams.
- Motivated to bring structure and clarity to HR and recruitment processes in a busy studio setting.
Benefits & Opportunity
- Work in a creative and collaborative VFX studio environment.
- Opportunity to develop crew planning expertise while learning directly from senior leadership.
- Flexible budget, with the role tailored to suit a junior-to-mid-level professional looking to grow.
