Job Title: Teacher Beekeeping
We are seeking a qualified educator to deliver Certificate III in Beekeeping and associated skills programs. The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge of current industry practices and procedures, with the ability to initiate and maintain liaisons within the Beekeeping Industry.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach and contribute to our vocational training program. Key duties include:
* Teaching approved recurrent and industry programs, including Certificate III in Beekeeping and associated skills programs;
* Liaising with other staff, industry personnel and employers;
* Identifying requirements for staff development and participating in staff development activities;
* Assisting with the development and delivery of Beekeeping and Biosecurity programs;
* Participating in activities related to the delivery of programs, such as field trips;
* Providing interim and annual reports of student results;
* Meeting, assessing and enrolling intending students;
* Implementing new technologies within the study area and department;
* Selecting, safely using and maintaining appropriate equipment;
* Promoting regulated beekeeping programs to employers;
* Identifying and introducing strategies to assist students who are experiencing learning difficulties;
* Maintaining vocational competence for all areas of teaching.
Key Selection Criteria:
* A degree, diploma or certificate relevant to both content and academic level and industry experience relevant to the Beekeeping industry;
* A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40110), including Design and Develop Assessment Tools (TAEASS502) and Address Adult language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411) or (TAELLN401A);
* A thorough knowledge of current industry practices and procedures with a demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain liaisons within the Beekeeping Industry;
* Ability to take a lead role in the effective delivery of Beekeeping courses;
* Ability to use a variety of teaching modes and materials, including flexible and field-based delivery;
* Excellent practical operation skills;
* Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti-Discrimination, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement;
* A current Victorian Drivers' License;
* A current Working with Children Check Card (Employee) - mandatory;
* Successful applicant must be able to attain a new Police Check.
