About the Role
- Part-time position: 2 days per week (every Thursday and Friday, 0800 to 1600)
The Infection Prevention Coordinator (IPC) leads infection prevention initiatives and ensures compliance within the home. This role is required by the government in all aged care homes and involves:
- Implementing infection prevention strategies in the home
- Ensuring processes are followed
- Providing training and coaching to staff on infection prevention practices and documentation
- Leading and supporting staff development
- Serving as a health and safety role model
- Maintaining high standards of work with pride
You'll be someone who is empathetic and experienced in aged care. You will also have:
- A genuine desire to make a difference in people's lives
- Leadership experience in clinical care
- A nursing degree and current AHPRA registration
- Strong documentation skills and knowledge of infection prevention processes
