The National Art School (NAS) is Australia's leading independent art school, dedicated to exceptional, studio‐based art education and shaping contemporary art practice.
NAS is accredited through TEQSA and offers Bachelor of Fine Art, Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours), Masters and Doctorate courses. The Position
The Event Assistant supports the delivery of internal and external events by providing operational, technical, and customer service support. The role works collaboratively with staff, contractors, and clients to ensure events are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and outside standard school hours in line with event schedules.
What you bring to the role
You bring strong organisational skills and a hands‐on approach to both internal and external event delivery, with the ability to coordinate event requirements and act as a confident first point of contact for staff, clients, and contractors. You are proactive in supporting smooth bump‐in and bump‐out processes, maintaining high presentation standards, and ensuring event spaces are safe, clean, and well‐managed. You understand the importance of WHS compliance, risk management, and security coordination, and are diligent in reporting issues and completing documentation. Above all, you build positive working relationships, demonstrate a calm presence and reliability under pressure, and contribute to continuous improvement through thoughtful post‐event reporting.
